French Candy
Friday June 29, 2007
It has become a modern tradition to buy the biggest box of candy and devour it as fast as possible. Gone are the days of carefully chosen penny candy and exquisitely made treats plucked from the display cases of candy shops. In France, the custom lives on in private confection shops. Children still crowd the windows, watching threads of sugar being spun and kneaded in copper kettles. Enjoy a small bit of that old-fashioned wonder in your own kitchen by making Chocolate Truffles. Brew a cup of Cafe Creme and enjoy your treat slowly. Photo: ©Rebecca Franklin, Licensed to About.com
