Crepes For Dessert

Wednesday September 19, 2007
Crepes can be enjoyed all day long, but they are traditionally served after dinner as a dessert in France. Spread with a tablespoon of strawberry preserves, a dollop of chocolate cream, and a dusting of confectioners’ sugar, a crepe is a sublime experience. They are the ultimate versatile dessert, fully adaptable to your custom menu. Serve caramelized apple crepes with a sprinkle of toasted walnuts and cinnamon with an autumn chicken dinner. An elegant dinner party would be perfectly accented with mocha cream and almond crepes. If you’re having trouble introducing your children to new foods, try making familiar peanut butter and jelly crepes. From whimsical to classic, there are endless combinations in crepe recipes. Learning how to make great basic crepes is the most important part of the equation; after that everything is pure inspiration.
