The strawberry patch that has taken over my mother's front yard is undergoing a second revival. I can only guess that it's the early, hot growing season we've had in Pennsylvania, but little, crimson berry buds are ripening up again. As with most homegrown food, our garden berries are smaller and sweeter than the ones found at the market. That makes it a little more tedious to prepare them for recipes, but truth be told, most of them don't make it to the kitchen. For those that do, this strawberry spa water recipe is the perfect, refreshing use for them. A splash of color, the essence of fresh fruit... What could be better on a hot day? Bon appetit!
