French Comfort Foods

By October 31, 2012

Follow me on:

One person's crisp, green salad is as comforting as another's bowl of mashed potatoes. I lived in Hawaii several years ago and the most popular dishes in my house were oyster chicken with broccoli, and Mongolian beef, both served over steamed jasmine rice. It was wonderful, but not what most people would consider heavenly comfort food. Fast forward ten years and we're in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania region, enjoying local specialties such as pierogi and haluski. Comfort food is whatever brings back memories of good times, and helps create new ones. Whether you've been to France or simply can't wait to visit someday, make your next meal special with this collection of French comfort food recipes. My personal recommendation: the easy fondue Savoyarde on page 2.
