Jessica Spengler

Whether you raid your local produce section, a fresh farmer's stand, or the deep freezer at your market, this refreshing blueberry wine coulis recipe tastes like pure summer! For outstanding flavor, use homemade blueberry Port-style wine, or buy a premium quality dry berry wine. Serve this berry puree with quatre quarts cake or a scoop of chocolate sorbet.

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb blueberries
  • 1 cup dry blueberry wine
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation:

In a large saucepan, bring all the ingredients to a simmer over medium heat. Allow the mixture to simmer, half-covered, for about 5 minutes, and then remove it from the heat. Process the mixture in the blender, and then strain out and discard the solids. Chill and stir before serving.
