Figs Sauternes Recipe

Wine-poached figs are exceptional when served with a scoop of Lemon Sorbet. Make the presentation special by serving the dessert in a frozen martini glass and topping it with a frosted lemon peel spiral.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 14 oz bag dried figs
  • 1 cup Sauternes wine
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lemon, cut into ¼-inch slices

Preparation:

Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer the mixture, covered, for 25 minutes. Allow the figs to cool in the liquid before serving.

Makes 6 servings.
