This herbed butter recipe, sometimes called hotel butter although it technically is not, is a deliciously rich accompaniment to steak or seafood dishes. You can play around with the herb, adding what is fresh in your garden, for a signature recipe.

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup chopped, fresh parsley
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed and finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
How to make garden herb butter:
Thoroughly mix all the ingredients together until a smooth paste forms. Spoon the herbed butter along a length of plastic wrap and form it into a log. Wrap the log of hotel butter tightly and refrigerate it until firm.
