    Cut The Bananas

Broiled Bananas - Cutting the Bananas. Rebecca Franklin

Lightly cooked bananas with a caramelized sugar topping are a versatile dish. Use them as a healthy alternative to dessert or serve them for a fantastic breakfast treat. Making them takes only a few minutes and they're easy for cooks of all skill levels.

Make sure to use adult supervision with children; this recipe requires close contact with an intense heat source.

    Ingredients

    • 2 bananas
    • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

The First Step: Cut the Bananas

Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise. Make sure to do this step right before broiling the bananas. If you need to cut the bananas long before the cooking process, toss them with a bit of lemon juice to avoid browning them.
