High Fiber French Cuisine

By Rebecca Franklin, About.com

Fiber is generally known as a somewhat unappealing dietary aid to relieve constipation. But fiber has some other magic tricks up its sleeve, as well; among them is extending your longevity by reducing the risk of problems like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and possibly colorectal cancer.

The great news is that increasing your fiber intake does not mean that you need to choke down bran muffins and fiber drinks all day long. In fact, the opposite is true; studies have shown that a varied diet including high-fiber fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes is the most beneficial for a healthy lifestyle. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day for the best results.

Here’s a look at how you can incorporate fiber into a delicious day of French cuisine.
